Good Health/Gardening
As a nation, we are incredibly unhealthy and overweight, especially here in the South. Southern Baptists in general, and preachers in particular, are some of the fattest people in the world. I have struggled with obesity my entire life. As I fight the “Battle of the Bulge,” I try to inform, educate, and empower others to maintain and repair their Temples of God.
Gardening is one of the best ways to serve the Lord. We were all created to be naked gardeners. As a matter of fact, the first charge God gave mankind was to garden: Then the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it. (Genesis 2:15)
That command has never been repealed.
Every person in the world needs the goodness and nutrition that come from fruits and vegetables. The poverty, hunger and starvation that plague the world could be ended by teaching and empowering people to grow their own food. As followers of Jesus we do good when we till the soil.
